Size Inclusivity in Practice

This course examines common misconceptions about the relationship between weight and health. An interdisciplinary team of presenters draws on research from medicine, psychology, and sociology to review evidence demonstrating how weight stigma contributes to adverse mental and physical health outcomes for individuals in larger bodies. The course explores the relationship between anti-fat bias and other forms of oppression and distinguishes between the frameworks of body positivity and body liberation. Participants will learn practical strategies for providing inclusive, affirming services to people across the weight spectrum. The course incorporates opportunities for self-reflection and experiential learning through examples and structured learning activities.
